Saxophone Workshop

 

The saxophone Master classes are directed by Luisma Gonzalès Jiménez.

Dates : From July 13th, 2025, to July 18th, 2025

Target Audience :

  • Minors over 15 years old who have studied saxophpne in conservatories.
  • Adult students from DEM level to master’s level.
  • Adults of all levels.
  • Note : Minors must be accompanied by a parent.

Content :

  • One 45-minutes private lesson per day.
  • One chamber music class per day led by Paul Montag with students from other instrument classes.
  • Access to a space to work between lessons.
  • All classes are open to participants, and they are encouraged to attend.
  • A public Master class and a presentation concert are organized at the end of the workshop.

Objectives of the workshop :

  • Work on repertoire (research, development, improvement).
  • Research on the group’s sound homogeneity.
  • Development of programs specific to international competitions and top-level schools.
  • Reflection and work on the group’s musical identity for its professional development (concerts, recordings, etc.).

Luis María González Jiménez, a Spanish saxophonist based in Paris, is a versatile musician recognized for his work in performance, pedagogy, and research. He received his training from prestigious institutions such as the Superior Conservatories of Córdoba and Málaga, the CRR of Versailles, and the CNSMDP in Paris. He holds three master’s degrees in musical performance, chamber music, and pedagogy (Certificat d’Aptitude). A winner of over 10 first prizes in international competitions, Luis María has performed in renowned venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the Théâtre du Châtelet, Salle Cortot in Paris, and the Seoripul Art Hall in Seoul. In parallel, he has given masterclasses and lectures at prestigious institutions such as the Manhattan School of Music (New York), the Korea National University of Arts (Seoul), and the CNSMDP (Paris). Passionate about musical creation, he has collaborated with composers such as Félix Ibarrondo, Orlando Bass, Maël Bailly, and David Soley, who have dedicated original works to him. He has recorded two CDs with the Orpheus and IBS Classical labels and is currently preparing three new recording projects with Klarthe Records, which also publishes his collection of arrangements for saxophone. Luis María teaches at the CRD Marcel Dupré in Meudon and is the principal saxophonist of the Almería City Symphony Orchestra in Spain. He is also an artist for the brands Henri Selmer Paris and JLV Sound, and is represented by Matrisse Production. He is pursuing doctoral research at the University of Granada on high sensitivity in chamber music. He performs in various ensembles, including duos with guitarist Bruno Pancek and pianist Orlando Bass, as well as with the Gaman Ensemble saxophone quartet.
