Flute Workshop

 

The flute Master classes are led by Jean Ferrandis.

Dates : From 20/07/26 to 25/07/26.

Target Audience :

  • Flutists at an advanced level (minimum required: DEM / Specialized Cycle).
  • Professionals looking to improve their technical and musical work on the repertoire with the aim of preparing for various international competitions as well as major French and international schools.

Content :

  • Five individual lessons of 45 minutes each, including two with piano.
  • Access to practice rooms between lessons.
  • Opportunity to work on solo flute repertoire, with piano, and with existing classes at the academy.
  • All classes are open to participants, and they are encouraged to attend.
  • A public Master class and a presentation concert are organized at the end of the workshop.

Objectives of the workshop :

  • Work on breathing technique.
  • Work on posture, exercises to optimize finger and sound synchronization.
  • In-depth exploration of different repertoires and styles.
  • Understanding of the musical text.
  • Preparation for entrance exams, international competitions, and orchestral auditions.

Number of participants per workshop : maximum 10.

Leonard Bernstein, upon hearing him play Mozart, exclaimed, « It’s Pan himself! » After winning his prize at the CNSM of Lyon, Jean Ferrandis became the laureate of numerous international competitions, including the Grand Prix at the International Flute Competition of the « Printemps de Prague. » He has since performed in prestigious venues worldwide, such as the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, La Fenice in Venice… He has recorded numerous albums, including his latest, the complete Mozart quartets with the Goldberg Trio.
